These terms govern your use of Foulweather Labs — a personal web design company and development lab operated by Cedar Barrett. By using this site, you agree to these terms.
Access
Foulweather Labs is a private, invitation-only site. There is no public registration. Accounts are created by the administrator and granted to specific individuals. Access may be revoked at any time.
Some content — including the HWY 20 road conditions tracker, coastal information, and legal pages — is publicly accessible without an account. All other features require a valid account and login.
AI Writing Tools
The writing tools on this site (chapter outliner, query letter writer, scene writer, and others) are powered by Anthropic's Claude AI. The outputs they generate are suggestions to assist your creative process — they are not professional editorial advice, literary agent feedback, or publishing guarantees.
You retain ownership of your writing. The prompts you submit and the outputs generated belong to you. Foulweather Labs does not claim any rights to the creative content you produce using these tools.
AI-generated content should always be reviewed and revised before use. Do not submit AI-generated text to publishers, agents, or contests as your own unmodified work. The tools are writing assistants, not ghostwriters.
Acceptable Use
By using this site you agree to the following:

The HWY 20 road conditions tracker, coastal monitoring pages, fishing information, webcams, and related content are provided for informational purposes only.

Oregon coast conditions — road closures, surf heights, bar conditions, weather, and marine forecasts — can change rapidly and without notice. Information displayed on this site may be delayed, incomplete, or inaccurate. Always check official sources before traveling, crossing a bar, launching a vessel, or making any decisions where safety is at stake.
Official sources include: ODOT TripCheck (oregon.gov/odot), NOAA weather forecasts (weather.gov), NOAA marine forecasts, and the U.S. Coast Guard. Foulweather Labs is not responsible for decisions made based on information displayed on this site.
No Commercial Relationship
Foulweather Labs is a personal lab and portfolio site. There are no subscription fees, no paid tiers, and no commercial relationship between you and Foulweather Labs. Access is granted by invitation.
We make no guarantees of uptime, availability, or continued access. The site may go down, change, or be taken offline at any time without notice.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Foulweather Labs and its operator are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of this site or the information it provides.
